Christina's World

While on a trip up to Maine in May, I was able to visit the Olson house, Made famous by Andrew Wyeth's paintings and drawings.  The most well known of these is 'Christina's World'.  It was an inspiring place for an artist to visit and I would recommend this place to any Wyeth fan.  Being in and around the house was like walking into his work.  You can really get a sense of how his work was formed from each space.  I added a couple images of his paintings so you can see the inspiration.

New painting for the new downtown Hilton.   The new hotel will be featuring a great collection of Ohio artists.  It is great to be part of it!

just started a new painting. sometimes i really like certain parts of a new work when i'm just getting started. often these will change so much as the painting develops i like to record the first steps

a little change up

For an upcoming valentines day show at the Sharpe Gallery in Kennebunk, Maine, I was asked to show a couple figurative works. They are a bit different from what I have been working on in the past year but it was a fresh change from my recent works. Here is one of the paintings.

spent a nice sunday with artists and friends on a beautiful ohio farm. i didn't bring my paints but it was great to watch people work.

i realized after i took a couple detail shots of a work in progress that my fingerprints end up in a lot of my paintings. i guess if ever there is a good way to sign a painting, that would be it.
